Presentation 2025

ATAKA will hold an exhibition titled "Presentation 2025", exploring the potential of gold alloys.

ATAKA has been manufacturing its own proprietary gold alloys and creating jewelry with them since its founding. At last year’s "Presentation 2024", we developed 66 different shades of Au750, presenting for the first time in the world a rich gradation that cannot be achieved with mass-produced materials—all while preserving the universal standard of Au750 purity.

However, since the time of "Presentation 2024", the gold market has seen a dramatic surge. While it was around ¥13,000 per gram at the time, it is now approaching ¥18,000 per gram—an increase so sharp that it can be considered a social issue. Naturally, this has affected retail prices. Many companies have responded by raising prices or reducing the weight of gold used in their products.

In contrast, ATAKA will introduce Au500 at this exhibition—a grade that is not currently defined under ISO or JIS standards. As a response to soaring material costs, we have limited the alloying metals to only silver and copper, creating 11 new types of gold alloys. These new materials are not just alternative substances; they also question our blind adherence to established gold standards. Additionally, we will exhibit the previously developed 『Au0–999.9』 (presented at "A Piece of Gold 2025") as part of the conceptual approach to this work.

Au500 was previously included in the JIS standards but due to its limited advantages at the time, it saw almost no circulation. However, our recent research has revealed clear and nuanced color transitions, along with excellent resistance to discoloration. This has brought out a unique character distinct from Au750, suggesting that Au500 is worthy of reevaluation.
Reducing the gold content is typically seen as a compromise in quality, but this exhibition proposes a redefinition of values in response to challenges the world currently faces.
We look forward to welcoming you.
